Time for Spring Clean-Up!

Signs of Spring - green grass, buds on trees, and robins - are popping up, which means it's time for Spring Clean-Up at Green Ridge!

This is a busy time of year as grounds maintenance clears fallen branches, leaves, and Christmas wreaths.  Spring showers hamper the outdoor work, but the goal is to have the grounds cleaned up and ready for Memorial Day weekend.  Watch for posting regarding flower plantings soon.

Blizzard of 2011

SNOW!!   According to weather authorities the Kenosha area received 17.5 inches of snow on Groundhogs Day, February 2, 2011.  Ground crews at Green Ridge have been busy clearing main roadways, however, with so much snow it's hard to find places to pile it up without risk of damage to headstones.  Because of this, not all roadways are clear; we apologize if the roadway closest to your loved one's grave is not cleared.  Think spring!!

Winter in Green Ridge brings a blanket of snow and Christmas wreaths.  We sold 96 cemetery wreaths, 14 of which were through our Adopt-a-Veteran program.  Thank you to all who supported Green Ridge financially through the wreath sales.

We wish to thank those whom we were able to serve this past year during your time of loss; we appreciate you choosing Green Ridge as the final resting place of your loved one.

NOVEMBER NOTES

The Annual Meeting of the Kenosha Cemetery Association will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 8:30 am in the cemetery office, 6604 7th Avenue.

It's not too late to purchase a cemetery wreath!  Extras were ordered, but once they are gone, that's it!  These beautiful 24-inch wreaths with pine cones and a red velvet bow will be installed after Thanksgiving and will remain up through March, 2011.  Each wreath costs $30 and will be installed on a heavy-duty wire easel.
